Carlson Ranch began to provide quality beef to local families raised the way God intended for animals to be raised. We take great care of our cattle. We want to be completely transparent with our customers in every aspect. So read about how we take care of the animals God has entrusted us with...

Cows graze on fields of grass in the lush Willamette Valley. They have access to clean water, loose minerals, a salt block and a protein tub when needed. For a treat, we will call the cattle into the barn here and there to give them a little locally sources, mostly non-gmo grain. They love it!

We maintain natural practices here at the ranch. We use rotational grazing methods for natural parasite control. We use de-wormers only when necessary, usually one or two times a year. Antibiotics are only given as a last resort and only when needed. As of today, we have only had to use an antibiotic twice...once on a momma who had a rough birth and a second time on a bull who decided to take on a wired fence and got scraped. Point being, we use antibiotics sparingly and rarely. None of the beef we harvest for food have ever received antibiotics. We will NEVER use hormones on our herd. Our cattle get sprayed with fly spray a few times throughout the summer as needed. And that's it.

When people think of Wagyu, they think of a special breed of cows that get fed beer, are slung so they don't walk around in order to keep their muscles tender and are massaged every day of their lives. Well, that's not how we roll at Carlson Ranch. Our cattle get to live normal lives, walking around grass fields, hanging out under large oak trees in the heat of a summer day and grazing on fallen apples. We do NOT feed them beer and we certainly don't have time for massage sessions. BUT our cattle are all 93.7% or higher Wagyu lineage. Our bull is 99.9% wagyu, papered. (The three steer we will harvest next year are 97% and 100% wagyu beef.) That being said, our wagyu beef tastes amazing! It is rich and buttery and our favorite thing to eat on the ranch.
